[Flying Age Model] Fei Junlong: In the army that conquered the universe,
CCTV News:On October 12th, 2005, Fei Junlong and his comrade-in-arms Nie Haisheng drove Shenzhou VI into space, which marked the official launch of the second-step plan of China’s manned spaceflight project, and began the space science experiment with real participation.
In the army of conquering the universe, Fei Junlong has undergone overweight endurance training, weightless flight training and flight procedure training, and every step they take is challenging people’s physiological limits. However, it is with such a fighting spirit that he can step on the deepest footprint on this broadest road.

Dream of joining the army as a teenager
On May 11, 1965, Fei Junlong was born in a small mountain village beside Yangcheng Lake in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. Both parents are farmers to the core. Fei Junlong is the third in the family, with two older sisters.
At that time, children all wanted to be PLA, and Fei Junlong was no exception. He loves reading story books of war heroes, watching war movies and drawing pictures, especially copying the portraits of heroic soldiers such as Yang Zirong and Guo Jianguang according to picture books … …
The yearning for the military camp has always been Fei Junlong’s unchanging feelings. When he was in middle school, his brother-in-law gave Fei Junlong an old military uniform, which made Fei Junlong so happy that he had been wearing it for many years. If it is worn out, it will be mended. If you are tall and your clothes are small, you won’t want to throw them away.
Pilots rooted in the northwest
In 1982, the air force recruited flights in Kunshan. Fei Junlong secretly signed up without consulting his parents. After mydriasis, Fei Junlong went home wearing sunglasses, only to miss the bottom after her mother’s repeated questioning.
That night, my father left Fei Junlong a sentence: "Your mother and I will not interfere with your choice, but once you make a choice, you must do it well and be worthy of your own choice!"
Air force pilots must complete all the contents of higher education machine training in aviation schools and pass the test before they can become a real pilot. Therefore, Fei Junlong and his comrades-in-arms in the same period went to the Fifth Aviation School of the Air Force in the northwest to carry out higher education machine training.

In August, 2005, Fei Junlong did physical training in the physical training center.
Fei Junlong’s training performance was outstanding. On the eve of graduation, the school leaders specially talked with Fei Junlong and mobilized him to stay as a flight instructor in No.5 Aviation School. Considering the needs of the aviation industry, Fei Junlong consciously obeyed the organizational arrangements, gave up the opportunity to return to the Nine Aviation Schools with better conditions in the Mainland, and chose to stay in the Northwest, becoming a flight instructor in the Fifth Aviation School of the Air Force.
This is 15 years.
In 1988, Fei Junlong and his lover Wang Jie were introduced by friends and married in 1990 after two years of contact. After marriage, Fei Junlong and her lover lived apart for a long time.
In 1992, when Fei Junlong’s son was born, Fei Junlong didn’t come back to accompany his wife because the army was organizing flight training in the subject of "ground target". This incident is an irretrievable guilt for Fei Junlong. It is under such circumstances that when Fei Junlong put forward the hope that his wife would live with him in the northwest, she didn’t expect that her wife didn’t even complain, just asked him if he had decided, and if she decided, she would report to the unit.
Flying? China can’t just be a legend!
In 1988, Fei Junlong read a passage from American astronaut Armstrong in a report: "Who was the first man who yearned to fly to the moon? Is a beautiful girl in China. Who was the first man to land on the moon? Is an American. That beautiful girl in China is Chang ‘e; That American is me. "
The romantic association of American astronauts full of pride sounds particularly harsh in Fei Junlong. An idea welled up in Fei Junlong’s heart: Flying, China can’t just be a legend!
In 1995, the first batch of astronauts were selected in the Air Force Flying Force. Fei Junlong signed up without hesitation.
At that time, Fei Junlong used to smoke to relieve the pressure of flying. One day, his wife came home to see the smoke, and asked him with a straight face. Fei Junlong smiled and said, "Just let me have fun. I’m going to give it up next." The wife said, "If you really want to be an astronaut, don’t wait for the next step!" " Fei Junlong twisted the cigarette butt in the ashtray at that time.
From that day on, Fei Junlong never touched a cigarette again for the simple reason of being an astronaut!
In the early summer of 1996, Fei Junlong was informed to attend the physical examination of astronauts in the Lushan sanatorium of the Air Force. After passing the initial examination, he went to Beijing Air Force General Hospital to take part in the clinical examination. After successfully passing the physical examination, Fei Junlong and other comrades were arranged to take part in the special examination of space physiological function in China Astronaut Center.
In January 1998, Fei Junlong joined the Astronaut Brigade of China People’s Liberation Army and became the first astronaut in China.

During the mission to Shenzhou 5 in 2003, Fei Junlong was selected into the five-man list, but eventually he did not enter the three-man echelon. Although everyone is psychologically prepared for not being elected, Fei Junlong’s heart is always very lost after learning the result.
Fei Junlong regards Shenzhou VI as his next goal. The swivel chair training is excellent for 10 minutes, and he usually does it for 15 minutes; Head-down training, which he had never practiced before, lasted for five days, with his feet high and his head down on his back, lying on a special "bed board", unable to curl his legs, and defecating on the "bed", just like a seriously ill patient; Centrifuge training, 4 G’s do 80 seconds, 6 G’s do 60 seconds, until 8 G’s, which is equivalent to pressing 8 times the weight on the chest. After stopping, my brain still feels spinning.
During that time, Fei Junlong often stayed in the training simulator and was familiar with flight procedures and operating procedures. Later, when I closed my eyes, I could clearly see the positions of all instruments and switches in the cockpit. Thick flight operation manual, Fei Junlong can recite it, and in special circumstances, he can completely handle it without reading the manual.
China astronauts will certainly do it.
In January, 2005, the Astronaut Center completed the primary selection of the flight crew of Shenzhou VI mission, and Fei Junlong ranked first in the primary selection and successfully entered the mission crew.
At 9: 09: 52 on October 12, 2005, the Shenzhou VI spacecraft was launched, which marked the official launch of the second-step plan of China’s manned spaceflight project, and the space science experiment with real participation began. Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng have historically become flight crews by virtue of their comprehensive and excellent qualities.
In the early morning of October 12, Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng were awakened from their sleep by the staff. After routine physical examination, breakfast and signing the door of the apartment, they walked out of the pavilion in ivory spacesuits. The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, which has always had scarce precipitation, suddenly experienced heavy snow, and Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng went out in the snow.
Once you leave the earth, blood will rush to your head due to weightlessness, which will make people feel uncomfortable all over. This discomfort didn’t last long for Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng. By the next night, they had adapted to it, and on the third day, their condition was very good.
Compared with Shenzhou 5, "Shenzhou VI" spacecraft has added an orbital module, and they have to carry out some tests in the orbital module to verify the procedures for astronauts’ activities. During the flight, Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng successfully carried out four through-cabin tests.
"In what form do all the people on the ground who care about us know that we are in good condition?" Fei Junlong remembered the "forward tumbling" done by foreign astronauts on the space station before, so he boldly did four "forward tumbling" actions, which made the audience watching live TV happy for a long time. But it made researchers on the ground nervous for quite a while.
"What foreign astronauts can do, China astronauts can certainly do it." Fei Junlong said confidently. (Yang Xiaomiao/Wen)
