Wang Qianyuan practices "murderous aura" for "Embroidery Spring Knife" to make up for killer movies
Directed by the young director Lu Yang, the romantic martial arts masterpiece starring Zhang Zhen and Wang Qianyuan is about to hit theaters nationwide on August 7. In the film, Lu Jianxing, the loyal and righteous eldest brother, is played by Tokyo actor Wang Qianyuan. For this role, Wang Qianyuan revealed that he had made up a number of killer-themed movies at home to make himself look more "murderous".
The movie "Embroidered Spring Knife" tells the story of the three brothers of Jinyi Wei who were ordered to hunt down Wei Zhongxian during the Chongzhen period of the late Ming Dynasty, but were finally involved in a court conspiracy. In the film, Wang Qianyuan plays Lu Jianxing, the eldest of the three brothers of Jinyi Wei, who is quite authoritative in front of the two younger brothers. Wang Qianyuan, who always gives people the gentle image of "a good man" and "a good father", for the first time plays a cold-blooded Jinyi Wei, who seems to be "more domineering than murderous". In this regard, Wang Qianyuan said with a smile: "No one has ever asked me to play a killer in the past." Embroidered Spring Knife "is the first time. Maybe the directors think I am not bad enough or ruthless enough!"
In order to add more "murderous", Wang Qianyuan made up a number of classic killer movies at home before filming. He said: "I don’t usually watch many killer movies, so I took this opportunity to spend a few days watching about a dozen movies. After watching it, I feel that the most important thing in acting as a killer is the eyes. Martial arts and action scenes actually play a supporting role, proving your identity as a killer to others."
In addition to watching killer movies to practice "murderous intent", Wang Qianyuan also "learned from" Zhang Zhen, who played a killer, "Zhang Zhenzai and Zhang Zhen have both played killers. His’killer ‘experience is relatively rich, and his’murderous intent’ is also relatively sufficient, so in private, in addition to’sparring ‘martial arts, we also exchanged some ideas about playing a killer, and he also agreed with me that eyes are the most important." In addition, for the Jinyiwei in the film, Wang Qianyuan also has his own interpretation: "The Jinyiwei we play is not the kind of murderer who kills innocent people indiscriminately, but still has humanity and kindness. They are ordered to kill people for the court, which is different from ordinary cold-blooded killers. I think they are especially like the death squads. Their lives don’t belong to them from birth, and they may kill or be killed at any time. "
