On October 27th, at the 16th Inter-Ministerial Liaison Meeting of Meteorological Disaster Early Warning Service Department of China Meteorological Bureau, several member units of inter-ministerial liaison fully affirmed the important role played by meteorological departments in agriculture, transportation, energy and other fields. The reporter learned from the meeting that since the establishment of the meeting system of inter-ministerial liaison officers of meteorological disaster early warning service in 2010, this "friend circle" called "Meteorological Plus" has been continuously expanded, and the linkage mechanism has been further improved. Through joint research and planning, deployment and publication, promotion of projects, supervision and guidance, and evaluation of benefits, all member units have achieved remarkable results in promoting refined meteorological services to empower various industries and fields.

This year, the number of member units of inter-ministerial liaison officers of meteorological disaster early warning service increased to 32. For three consecutive years, China Meteorological Bureau conducted a survey on the demand for meteorological services for relevant ministries and units, worked out accounts according to the principle of "one department, one policy", and established a "one-to-one" docking mechanism and a normalized meteorological service feedback and evaluation mechanism. In 2022, the demand response reached 100%; This year, a survey on the demand for meteorological services was conducted for 107 central enterprises, and the supply of meteorological services was strengthened in accordance with the principle of "one enterprise, one policy", and good results were achieved.

Since the beginning of this year, the China Meteorological Bureau and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs have promoted meteorological services for agriculture to improve quality and efficiency; Together with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Transport, we implemented the optimization and upgrading of 110 bad weather high-impact road sections. Last year, the traffic accidents of 108 bad weather high-impact road sections jointly supervised by the three ministries and commissions decreased by 43.6% year-on-year, resulting in social and economic benefits of 2.378 billion yuan; Jointly promote the pilot construction of urban waterlogging risk early warning with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Ministry of Emergency Management; Strengthen the service guarantee in key areas such as peak summer (winter) energy supply and new energy transformation and development with the National Energy Administration; Cooperate with the National Health and Wellness Commission to carry out meteorological sensitive disease forecasting services … Before and after the disastrous weather, during major events, important exams, important agricultural nodes, major holidays and other key nodes, the meteorological department also worked closely with relevant departments to strengthen consultation and contribute to ensuring people’s lives and property safety and empowering high-quality economic and social development.

For the next step of cooperation, China Meteorological Bureau will further develop the advantages of their respective departments with various ministries and commissions to promote integrated and coordinated development; Clarify the demand and establish a two-way channel of "service-benefit inspection and evaluation"; Strengthen communication and linkage in optimizing the layout of monitoring stations and networks, promoting the interconnection of industry information, and consolidating the support and guarantee of inter-ministerial cooperation, and take the inter-ministerial liaison officer of meteorological disaster early warning service as the link to unite efforts to serve and ensure high-quality economic and social development.

Before the meeting, the participants also went to the location of Tanzhesi Town Meteorological Station in Mentougou District and Mentougou District Meteorological Bureau to investigate the response to the "237" heavy rainfall in North China and the meteorological service guarantee for post-disaster reconstruction.
