Doctors in a village clinic in Anhui Province were put on file for investigation on suspicion of obstructing the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.

On January 30th this year, patient Liu went to the village clinic where Wu Mou De was located. Knowing that Liu had a fever and a cough, Wu Mou De still treated him without relevant certificates, prescribed a prescription for him, and arranged for his wife Wang to do infusion treatment for Liu. In the meantime, Wu Mou De did not inform Liu of the referral or the diagnosis and treatment in the superior hospital as required. On February 8th, Wu Mou De received Li, a patient with fever and cough without relevant certificates, in the clinic, and gave him a prescription and infusion treatment.
In addition, the village clinic where Wu Mou De is located also serves as a courier collection point. During the epidemic prevention and control in COVID-19, hundreds of people came to the clinic to pick up the courier. On February 14th, Wu Mou closed the clinic. On February 15th, 16th and 18th, Li, Liu and Wang were successively diagnosed as COVID-19 patients. It has been found out that hundreds of people were isolated for observation because of their contact with Wu Mou and Wang in the village clinic.
On February 20th, the public security organ filed a case against Wu Mou for investigation on suspicion of obstructing the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. The Huoqiu County Procuratorate formed a case-handling team to intervene in advance, consult the case materials, discuss the case with the public security organs, and guide the public security organs to collect, improve and fix relevant evidence. On March 15th, the reporter learned that the public security organs have taken compulsory measures to monitor Wu Mou’s residence because of his medical isolation.
